TEETH WHITENING
CIMBAK DENTAL CLINIC
Teeth Whitening with Long-Term Results
Professional teeth whitening is one of the simplest cosmetic dentistry solutions we offer at Cimbak Dental Clinic, yet it provides one of the most dramatic cosmetic enhancements to our patients’ smiles. In as little as one hour, we can transform yellowed or discolored teeth into a whiter, brighter smile so you can be photo ready without the inconvenience of whitening at home with drugstore brands!
Why Whiten Your Teeth?
Teeth become dull, dingy, or discolored for a variety of reasons. As we age, the enamel becomes thinner while the dentin tends to grow darker, affecting our tooth color. Some of us are born with thinner enamel—and more visible dentin—because of our genetic makeup. Enamel also is porous, so some foods and beverages can seep through it and affect your tooth color as well.
But that morning cup of coffee isn’t the only reason your teeth might look yellow. The most common causes of tooth discoloration include:
- Aging or genetics
- Smoking and tobacco products
- Dark beverages such as coffee, tea, red wine, and soda
- Certain medical treatments and medications, including tetracycline
- Tooth decay (cavities) or trauma
- Poor dental hygiene
If you need dental work such as a crown, a bridge, a veneer or dentures, the Cimbak Dental Clinic dentist also might suggest that you whiten your natural teeth first to help such artificial fixtures blend in seamlessly over time. The dental porcelain used in such cosmetic and restorative treatments is color-matched to your natural teeth, but it doesn’t respond to whitening treatments. So if you whiten your teeth later, your dental work will look darker and will stand out.
ZOOM® TEETH WHITENING: WHITER TEETH IN ONE HOUR
At Cimbak Dental Clinic, we offer Zoom WhiteSpeed teeth whitening treatment, which can deliver a smile that’s up to six to eight shades whiter after just one appointment. Zoom is the most requested professional teeth whitening brand in America. It’s also proven to be comfortable for people with sensitive teeth. Because of Zoom’s adjustable intensity settings, the majority of patients experience little to no tooth sensitivity afterward.
To get started, our hygienist or dentist first will ensure that you don’t have any cavities or gum disease. Zoom uses a hydrogen peroxide whitening gel that works with a special chair-side light to penetrate the teeth and break up stains and discoloration. Treatment consists of three to four 15-minute sessions for a total time of 45 minutes to 1 hour. Once you’re done, you’ll leave our office with a much-whiter smile.
